Partner R. Danny Huntington will be a panelist on an ASIPI webinar titled "Strategic Patent Prosecution in the USA: Special Features of the US System" taking place on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
The session will focus on the specific features of patent prosecution in the United States, including:
- a statistical overview of Latin American patent applications in the USA; and
- issues that are not common in Latin America and are often difficult to understand, such as: the types of applications in the U.S. (continuation, divisional, continuation-in-part, and reissue); restrictions and rejoinders; and strategies for obtaining the best patent protection in the U.S.
ASIPI, the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property, is the first intellectual property regional organism in the American continent. Today ASIPI has more than 1,500 affiliates belonging to all of the American countries and other regions like Europe, Asia and Africa.
