Steven and Jen represent The New York Times in the groundbreaking litigation filed against Microsoft Corporation and OpenAI alleging copyright infringement by their generative AI tools. They also represent eight prominent newspapers from across the country in a similar suit against OpenAI and Microsoft alleging the “purloining millions of the [newspapers’] copyrighted articles without permission and without payment to fuel the commercialization of their generative artificial intelligence (“GenAI”) products, including ChatGPT and Copilot.”
