Rothwell Figg Attorney Celebrates Return of Sacred Text with Government Officials

On Thursday, November 9, 2017, partner Steven Lieberman celebrated the return of one of Chabad’s sacred texts along with rabbis of the Chabad-Lubavitch community and leaders of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. Steven joined Rabbis Chaim Cunin (Chabad House Publications), Yosef Cunin (Beverly Hills Jewish Community), Mendel Cunin (Chabad of Larchmont), Zushe Cunin (Chabad of Pacific Palisades), Levi Cunin (Chabad of Malibu), Tzemach Cunin (Chabad of Century City), and Avrohom Litvin (Chabad of Kentucky) in meeting Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-NY), Senate President Pro Tempore Orrin Hatch (R-UT), and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). The Chabad Rabbis also met with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R–KY), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D–CA), House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R–CA), and Assistant U.S. Attorney General Makan Delrahim the previous day.

Earlier this year, all 100 U.S. Senators signed a letter to President Putin demanding the return of Chabad’s texts.
