Eric Blatt at AIPLA Webinar on Production and Quality Incentives at the USPTO

December 11, 2018
12:30pm — 2:00pm

Associate Eric D. Blatt will participate in an American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) webinar titled "Production and Quality Incentives at the USPTO: Risks and Opportunities for Patent Counsel" being held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 12:30 p.m.

The USPTO deploys a complex network of production and quality incentives that influence examination outcomes. Those incentives, and their effects on patent quality, present important strategic considerations for patent counsel seeking to maximize portfolio value or manage litigation risk. Mr. Blatt at his co-panelists, Roshan Mansinghani of Unified Patents and Chen Li of Medler Ferro Woodhouse & Mills, will address the channels by which the USPTO incentivizes examiners’ production and regulates quality, how those channels influence examiner decision-making, how patent prosecution counsel can leverage examination incentives to improve outcomes, and how patent quality issues may be considered in the context of litigation and risk management.

Both AIPLA members and non-members are invited to join. To learn more, and to register, please click here.
