Frank Rothwell, Guest Speaker at Rededication of Rothwell Gymnasium

On May 2, 2005, Gideon Franklin Rothwell was the guest speaker for the rededication of the Rothwell Gymnasium at the University of Missouri - Columbia (UMC). The 100-year-old building was first dedicated in 1905, and was named for Mr. Rothwell's great grandfather Gideon Rothwell, a former President of the Board of Curators, who is credited with saving the Columns. Rothwell Gymnasium is part of the $43-million project undertaken by UMC to renovate and expand its Recreation Complex. Mr. Rothwell, accompanied by other 6th generation descendants, cut the ceremonial ribbon with his grandson Gideon VI.
