Robert Murray Speaks on "Utility Problems at the USPTO" in Berlin
On May 27, 2003, Robert Murray was a speaker at a seminar in Berlin entitled, "Protecting Biotech and Pharmaceutical Inventions at the EPO and USPTO." His speech was on "Utility Problems at the USPTO" which explained the history of PTO utility rejections and illustrated with cold fusion, perpetual motion machines, etc., cases. Mr. Murray also explored the reasoning behind recent Examiners' actions, especially in connection with written description rejections, and possible solutions. In addition, a hypothetical situation was discussed in view of recent announcements about the filing of patents in the SARS area. |
