Martin M. Zoltick Appointed to Open Source Committee of Intellectual Property Owners Association Marty Zoltick has been appointed by IPO President Marc Adler to serve as a member of the Open Source Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO). The IPO is a trade association for owners of patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets, and is the only association in the U.S. that serves all intellectual property owners in all industries and all fields of technology. The Open Source Committee studies and reports on issues relating to open source software. The committee's primary purposes are to monitor and participate in legal developments associated with open source software including licenses and their enforcement, to participate in formulating and inform the IPO Board and membership of current thinking and practices relevant to open source software, to follow and report on any relevant case law, to help formulate, follow and report on the policies set by government agencies that impact use of open source software, to monitor and report on the impact of open source software on standards practice, and to take positions consistent with the needs and desires of the IPO Board and members on open source software in appropriate fora. |
