DANIEL L. SHORES Associate
Mr. Shores was born in Boston, Massachusetts and admitted to the Bar of the District of Columbia in 2005. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
Mr. Shores received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 1995, and a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 2005. While an undergraduate, Mr. Shores was the team leader for an award winning design project relating to underwater human submersible systems. While in law school, Mr. Shores served on the editorial board of the Georgetown Law Journal, Volume 93. Mr. Shores is a member and officer of the Giles S. Rich American Inn of Court, the Washington, D.C. Inn devoted to the practice of intellectual property law.
Mr. Shores joined Rothwell Figg as a summer law clerk in 2004, and as an associate in 2005. Mr. Shores’ practice is focused on patent litigation covering an array of technological fields. Representative litigations include, and have included, the following subject matter: materials science, layered glass, seed conveyor systems, business methods, transgenic cotton seed, self-adhering insulation, isomeric drugs, antimicrobial lotion, drugs that treat hepatitis B, hypertension, allergic rhinitis, and so forth. Mr. Shores has also been involved in a number of patent prosecution and opinion matters involving mainly mechanical devices and systems.
Mr. Shores is also active in the community, having served on committees to help the homeless population in D.C. and other endeavors.
