DANIEL L. SHORES Associate
Dan Shores is an associate in the firm’s patent litigation practice. Mr. Shores has served as counsel in a number of intensive patent litigation matters involving an array of technological subject matter including materials science, heat-treated glass with multilayer low-emissivity coatings, seed conveyor systems, business methods, webpage incentive programs, transgenic cotton seed, elastomeric foam duct lining insulation with pressure-sensitive adhesive, pharmaceuticals (treatment of asthma, hypertension, hepatitis B, allergic rhinitis), antimicrobial lotion, integration of electronic securities marketplace with order management systems, website auto-complete search features, data access and management systems, supplemental information for video programs, and fiber-optic probes for tissue investigation.
Mr. Shores is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Mr. Shores is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the Massachusetts Bar.
Mr. Shores is a Barrister, and serves as an executive officer, of the Giles S. Rich American Inn of Court in Washington, DC, the nation’s flagship intellectual property inn of court. Mr. Shores has also been involved in a number of pro bono matters involving constitutional law and landlord tenant law. Mr. Shores is also active in the community, having served on committees to help the homeless population in D.C.
Mr. Shores received a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering (specialization in materials science) from the University of New Hampshire. While in law school, Mr. Shores served on the Senior Editorial Board of the Georgetown Law Journal, Volume 93.
