Neil B. McLaughlin, Ph.D.* Associate
Dr. McLaughlin graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry. He later attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where he received a Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology. His doctoral research focused on the cytoskeletal dynamics of phagocytosis in ciliated microorganisms. He then received an Intramural Research Training Award to conduct post-doctoral research at the National Institutes of Health, in the Institute of Child Health and Human Development, where his research was directed towards providing a deeper understanding of genome modifications and their involvement in the mechanisms controlling gene expression.
Dr. McLaughlin attended Northwestern University School of Law where he served as an officer of the Intellectual Property Law Society and where he served as an Articles Editor of the Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. During his time at Northwestern Law, Dr. McLaughlin also gained valuable litigation experience while working in the Bluhm Legal Clinic, where he litigated fraud claims on behalf of commodity investors. Dr. McLaughlin is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois.
